As New Mexico’s largest foundation dedicated exclusively to education, the LANL Foundation joins many of our fellow nonprofits, educators, students, and families in expressing deep concern over the recent executive order to effectively close the U.S. Department of Education. In this moment of uncertainty, we reaffirm our unwavering commitment to New Mexico’s students, educators, and communities, recognizing the strengths and resources that will sustain us in the years ahead.

The Northern New Mexico Pathways to Opportunity Strategy Table is excited to announce a groundbreaking new initiative to support organizations serving young people in Northern New Mexico - The Northern New Mexico Youth Fund. 

The LANL Foundation proudly announces that 12 teachers from Northern New Mexico, supported through its initiatives, have achieved National Board Certification—a prestigious and nationally respected credential in K-12 education.

In times of change and uncertainty, we want to take a moment to reaffirm our steadfast commitment to the students, families, educators, and communities of Northern New Mexico. As the largest foundation in the state exclusively dedicated to education, we recognize the challenges posed by recent policy and funding shifts at the federal level. At the same time, we recognize the strength and resilience that define our communities.

The LANL Foundation is excited to announce that applications are now open for the Career Pathways Scholarship, a program designed to support students and adult learners in Northern New Mexico who are pursuing an associate degree, certificate, or professional trade credential. The scholarship offers $750 per semester, up to $3,000 total, to help recipients achieve their educational and career goals.

After 14 years of exemplary service, Anna Marie Garcia, Vice President of Early Childhood Education at the LANL Foundation, will retire at the end of 2024.

The LANL Foundation is excited to announce its policy and funding priorities for the upcoming 2025 regular legislative session, with a focus on key issues impacting education in Northern New Mexico and statewide.
