Pamela is an authority in media and digital literacy and a recipient of national awards for her work at the statewide and national level. As the state chapter chair for Media Literacy Now, she advocates for systemic change. Through her company, Media Savvy Citizens, students’ digital literacy skills have been strengthened through research-informed professional development training and resources. Working across the state, she has successfully designed and led two capacity-building pilots to embed media literacy in content, transforming teaching and learning.
She brings to the foundation an entrepreneurial spirit; management, leadership, and policy experience; building coalitions; and over 20 years of experience in the field of education in New Mexico. She holds a bachelor’s in Mass Communications and a master’s in Media Studies. Pamela comes from the mountains of Bolivia and has resided in Taos since 1996. She enjoys adventuring and raising her two kids.
