In 2024, a vision became reality. Thanks to the dedication of the LANL Veterans community, the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund Advisory Committee, and the LANL Foundation, the Veterans Scholarship Fund was created to honor military service by opening doors to education for veterans and their families across Northern New Mexico.

As an organization that brings people together, the LANL Foundation strives to provide a warm, welcoming environment as we work to lift up education in Northern New Mexico. Run by local youth Melissa De La Cruz and her family, Lazy Buffalo has provided breakfast and lunch for meetings with regional education leaders and a regional college and career meeting hosted at our Española office.
