Originally from Arizona, Julie has lived in New Mexico for five years. She teaches English to grades 7-12 at Wagon Mound High School. This is her fifth year of teaching high school English. Before that, she taught at the college level at Oklahoma Panhandle State University for eight years. She finds her work very rewarding and enjoys the relationships she has built with her kids. She is pursuing her NBC because she wants to be the most effective teacher that she can for her students.
She earned her BA and MA in English from West Texas A&M University and her doctorate in Educational Technology from Central Michigan University. She lives on a ranch with her husband, 15 year old daughter, and many animals. She also has an adult son and daughter. She loves hiking, reading, and traveling.
