Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation Closes Until April 6th

COVID-19 Pandemic Precautions Prompt LANL Foundation Team to Work from Home

Espanola, NM – March 16, 2020 – Today the Los Alamos National Lab Foundation announced that from now until April 6th, the LANL Foundation offices will be open only for essential operations. All outside meetings will be postponed or held telephonically or digitally. Reassessment will be made on April 6th. At that point, a decision will be made about what to do going forward.  Jenny Parks, President and CEO of the Foundation, addressed the situation as such…

“First and foremost, we extend our condolences to those throughout the world who are dealing with hardship during this time, and our gratitude to our leaders, healthcare professionals, first responders, and others helping to guide our communities through this challenge. We also commit to you that, as we work together through this crisis, the LANL Foundation will continue to do all that we can to support our babies, families, students, school districts, pueblos, and other communities in Northern New Mexico.”

“The health, safety, and security of our staff, our families, and our communities are paramount to the Foundation. In efforts to keep our families safe, we have implemented strong measures to address the COVID-19 Coronavirus.”

Currently, Los Alamos National Lab Foundation staff are working remotely. All business travel and in-person LANL Foundation events are canceled until further notice. Additionally, all outside events held at the LANL Foundation are canceled and will be rescheduled.

“LANL Foundation is allowing staff additional flexibility and time off to attend to family and other needs.” According to Jenny Parks, “This is an “all-hands-on-deck” moment, a time for us to come together to work for the common good. The more action we take now to limit our exposure to COVID-19, the more we protect our communities from infection. Our decision is in solidarity with ‘flattening the curve,’ the new motto for limiting the pandemic’s spread.”
