Dr. Virginia Padilla-Vigil is the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs/Chief Academic Officer for Southwestern College. She is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of all academic programs and student and career services. As the Chief Academic Officer, she provides oversight of faculty and curriculum for all graduate degree and certificate programs at the college; upholds excellence in the academic programs and promotes a developmental model of student success; and provides oversight of student learning outcomes assessment and accreditation activities for both student and career services and academic programs. She serves on Executive Council with President, executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, and Chief Technology Officer. As the Interim Dean at New Mexico Highlands University Virginia provided academic, intellectual, and administrative leadership for the School of Education including leading academic strategic planning and implementation; fostering innovation and partnerships; budget management; and leading the ongoing development and implementation of the school’s strategic vision, mission and goals.
In 2013 she obtained her Ph.D. Language, Literacy & Sociocultural studies from the University of New Mexico.
