K.C. is a counselor at Mandela International Magnet School in Santa Fe. After his educational work in Spain, Guatemala, New York, and Colorado, he began teaching at SFPS eleven years ago. He loves the diversity of his students, fellow teachers, and families at Mandela, and in Santa Fe in general. He is pursing his NBC at a time when school counseling has been named a critical source of support for the public education system. He feels called to step in to the challenge of deepening his practice to most effectively serve the needs of his students, families, and school community.
Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with his family, going on long runs, listening to and making music. He is grateful to the NMPED, LANL Foundation, and NM-NBCT for the support they are providing as he pursues his certification.
