Now Accepting Proposals for the LANL Foundation’s 2021 Education and Community Outreach Grants

Espanola, New Mexico—The Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation is now accepting proposals for their 2021 Education and Community Outreach Grants. Qualified applicants include school districts, nonprofit New Mexico educational institutions, IRS-qualified 501(c)(3) organizations, government agencies, and Pueblo/Tribal communities serving Los Alamos, Mora, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, and Taos counties.

Eligible proposals will be categorized into two distinct funding groups. Education Outreach Grant proposals provide services that directly support public education programs for grades K–12 during in- and out-of-school time. Community Outreach Grants support learners of all ages by funding community-based systems that help families and individuals thrive, learn, and fully engage with their community.

“In 2021, our mission is more important than ever. We know public education plays a powerful role in shaping the trajectory of our communities. Effective education cultivates critical-thinking skills and addresses inequities—inequalities made especially evident during these difficult times,” said Jenny Parks, the LANL Foundation President, and CEO. “The LANL Foundation hopes our grants will help address these issues and expand educational opportunities within our seven-county region by encouraging and supporting on-the-ground organizations, schools, and Tribal communities.”
