Espaňola, New Mexico — The Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) Foundation and Wildflower International have partnered to create the new Dell Technologies/Wildflower International Endowed Scholarship Fund.
Established by a $100,000 gift from Wildflower International with support from Dell Technologies, the fund will provide educational scholarships for Northern New Mexico high school seniors and undergraduates pursuing studies in computer science and other technology-based disciplines.
“Scholarships change lives, especially for students and families of color and in underrepresented communities,” said Carly Rhodeside, Wildflower’s Chief of Communications and Director of SalesOps. “Since Wildflower was born, raised and continues to thrive in Northern New Mexico, establishing the endowment with our friends at Dell Technologies is a way for us to honor those roots together and give directly to the future. We are grateful to the LANL Foundation for their partnership, and it’s thrilling to know we can be a part of their mission for years to come.”
Scholarship recipients will be selected by the Los Alamos Employee Scholarship Fund (LAESF) Advisory Committee and approved by the LANL Foundation Board of Directors.
The goals of the Dell Technologies/Wildflower International Endowed Scholarship Fund reflect Dell’s “Transforming Lives with Technology” initiative and the company’s goal of advancing STEM education.
Jenny Parks, President and CEO of LANL Foundation, shared: “We are thrilled to partner with Wildflower International, a local company with global reach, and with Dell Technologies. We are so grateful for the generosity of these two companies. It is rare to have two global companies invest in our Northern New Mexico students, but they know how brilliant our students are — and how a paid scholarship can make the difference in whether students are able to pursue their dreams. This scholarship will benefit many students from our area who are interested in STEM careers and will impact lives in our region for decades to come. Scholarships really do transform lives.”
