Martinez/Yazzie Action Plan

The LANL Foundation is honored to be selected by the New Mexico Public Education Department as a core partner in leading community engagement efforts for the statewide Martinez/Yazzie Action Plan.

Rooted in our long-standing commitment to educational equity, this work builds on years of partnership with families, tribal communities, educators, students, and advocates across New Mexico. In collaboration with the Public Education Department, the Legislative Education Study Committee, and WestEd, we are supporting a new wave of regional community meetings to inform and strengthen the next phase of the Martinez/Yazzie Action Plan.

This effort represents a continuation—not a reset—of the tireless work already done across the state to build a public education system that is culturally and linguistically responsive, student-centered, and grounded in equity.

As a trusted community partner, the LANL Foundation will help ensure that these engagement efforts are:

  • Inclusive and respectful, centering the lived experiences of those most impacted by the Martinez/Yazzie decision
  • Culturally responsive and locally rooted, recognizing the unique strengths of New Mexico’s diverse communities
  • Action-oriented and accountable, with a clear path toward shared goals and lasting change

We are committed to creating space for honest dialogue, deep listening, and collective visioning—because shaping the future of education in New Mexico must include the voices of students, families, and communities.
