Program Assistant

Evelyn’s relationship with the Foundation began in 2016 when she received a Silver Scholarship from the Los Alamos Employees’ Scholarship Fund. Soon afterward she joined the staff as an intern, helping out with the day-to-day tasks of the office at the front desk with a specific focus on the scholarship program and building alumni communication. Her role has evolved as Program Assistant, now supporting ISEC in addition to scholarships.

Evelyn graduated from Española Valley High School as Co-Valedictorian. She is proud to have represented both the Valley and the state of New Mexico as winner of the first ever National Spanish Spelling Bee in 2011. Evelyn worked as an intern for the Rio Arriba County Manager’s Department and Economic Development Director for two summers during high school.

She currently attends the University of New Mexico - Los Alamos where she is majoring in biology to pursue a career as a pediatrician. In her free time, she enjoys singing, playing guitar, and focusing on fitness and dance.
