Anna Marie came to the LANL Foundation in 2011 with a strong background in early childhood education. She offered technical support to First Born programs throughout the state and was instrumental in starting the Northwest NM program serving San Juan and McKinley Counties and parts of the Navajo Nation and Zuni Pueblo. She continues to support home visiting as a statewide initiative to improve the health and wellbeing of New Mexico children and families and works to build infrastructure across several program models.
Anna Marie has a master’s degree in early childhood/special education, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in early childhood social justice. Anna Marie, along with her three sons, spent a year in Costa Rica consulting in a bilingual school with an environmental education focus. While there she developed an inclusive special education program. Anna Marie has taught early childhood classes at Northern New Mexico College, as well as at Santa Fe Community College.
Her passions are capacity-building and life-long learning.
